CDP designed the extension and alterations of this 1930s style villa set in the heart of Whitecraigs.The extension to the side and the new sandstone entrance porch with associated balcony to the front of the house gives the property a rigorous and traditional character.
Whereas, the Kitchen and sitting room extension to the rear has a contemporary character with full height glazed screens opening onto the timber decked external space. Internally the walls to the principle rooms have been opened up to allow the spaces to flow together; when privacy is required the rooms can be closed off by means of opaque glazed sliding screens. Positioned in front of the 4m high glazed window to the front elevation is the new helical steel and glass staircase which leads to the accommodation on the two floors above.
