Phase 2 of the redevelopment of Humanea Vitae house, Braemar consists of a double garage, rear storm porch and rear sliding door.
The double garage is finished externally with larch timber cladding which echoes the composition and materiality of traditional buildings in the surrounding area. The storm porch is also clad in larch timber cladding with dark grey composite windows and door to match the existing house. The cladding is horizontal to reflect the linear emphasis of the existing dwelling and distinguishes the porch from the vertical clad garage. The addition of the storm porch provides a much needed draught lobby to the north elevation. A new additional rear sliding door to the north facade provides rear access to the living space making use of the rear garden area in the summer months which is vital for healthy modern family living.
